Born on 13th May, 1949 at Bahadra, Dist. Hanumangarh (Rajasthan) Did B.Sc. in the year 1969 from Government College, Hissar; LL.B. in the year 1972 from Doongar College, Bikaner and LL.M. in the year 1985-86 from University of Jodhpur. Enrolled as an advocate on 02.09.1972 with the Rajasthan Bar Council. Practised as advocate for about 24 years. Held the position of Secretary, Rajasthan High Court Advocates Association in the year 1976 and that of President of the Rajasthan High Court Advocates Association in the year 1986. Was Member of Bar Council of India for the period 1991 to 1993 and also Bar Council of Rajasthan for the period 1981 to 1996, Managing Trustee of Bar Council of India Trust for the period 1992-93. Was a Member of Group Study Exchange Team of Rotary International and visited USA in the year 1975. Used to teach law students of Jodhpur University. On various law related topics - delivered many lectures, speeches and gave interviews to Newspapers, Local News Channels, Public Functions and Radio Programmes for the stronghold of justice and check on the corruption in the Judicial System, made all possible attempts to solve the problems of the subordinate Judges and to improve the performance of the subordinate Courts of Rajasthan. Wrote thesis on the topic of "FUNDAMENTALISM, LAW AND NATIONAL INTEGRATION: A STUDY WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO INDIA". Elevated as Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on 06.04.1996. As a Judge, adjudicated cases of almost all branches of law which have been reported in various Law Reports and Journals. Was a Company Judge of the Western Region of Rajasthan for 8 years; Member of High Court Building Committee at Jodhpur; Member of the Promotion Committee of Rajasthan Judicial Services; Chairman of the Rajasthan High Court Library Committee at Jodhpur; Administrative Judge of Fast Track Court. Took oath as Judge of the High Court of Gujarat at Ahmedabad on 07.02.2008. Elevated as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on 22.08.2010 and superannuated on 12th May, 2011.
